Privacy policy

This explains what personal information Goteo collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Goteo is run by Goteo, a sole trader business run by Jayden, 2 Church Street, Stockport, SK6 1AJ. We’re the controller of your personal information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Contact: jmservices2023@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

  • Orders: your name, delivery address, email and phone number, to send your order and contact you about it. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
  • Drop alerts: your email address, only if you tick the box to agree. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Messages: what you send through the contact form or by email, to reply to you.
  • Page views: we count how many times each product page is viewed, as a daily total. This uses no cookies and stores no IP addresses or anything that identifies you.

Our legal reasons

  • To carry out our contract with you (orders, delivery, returns).
  • To meet legal duties, such as keeping sales records for tax.
  • Your consent, for drop-alert emails and Mixcloud’s cookies. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Our legitimate interest in running and improving the shop (anonymous page-view counts).

Who else handles it

We use trusted services to run the shop. They only use your information to provide their service to us:

  • Stripe (payments)
  • Supabase (our database)
  • Vercel (website hosting)
  • Resend (order and delivery emails)
  • Sendcloud, and the courier delivering your parcel (InPost, Evri or Royal Mail): your name, delivery address or chosen locker, email and phone number, so they can deliver it and send you tracking updates
  • OpenStreetMap (the locker map, only if you search for a locker)
  • Mixcloud (only if you play a mix)

Our database and website servers are in Ireland. Some providers, such as Stripe, may also process data outside the UK and EU. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK law.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax law requires, usually 6 years. Drop-alert emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages are deleted once they’re no longer needed.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email jmservices2023@gmail.com. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
